BOOK REVIEW – ONYX(LUX #2)

Hey everyone ! Here is what I felt when I read onyx

ONYXAuthor : Jennifer L. Armentrout

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there’s this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that’s possible. Against all common sense, I’m falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

 REVIEW

I usually go for a formal review and rate at the end of the post but this book makes me break my routine ! So here it goes –

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Plot – 5/5

Romance – 5/5

Aliens –5/5

Twists –5/5

Character depth –5/5

If you have been so kind in following my posts lately you would have figured how much I loved the first installment of the series (just in case you haven’t here is the link  ). I read Onyx in one single stretch . It had me captivated right from the beginning . And YES !! Damon and Katy are officially in love ! until…

Around the middle of the book there starts something like a love triangle/ confusion. I was like “ Nooooo ! This cant be happening ! Katy please ! you cant be falling for Blake ! His character has shades.I bet he will definitely break your heart if you trust him! You have Damon for heaven’s sake! ”  And Damon turned into all romantic bringing flowers to school, tiny gifts *heart flips* . Though Katy had her reasons for hanging out with Blake I still detest it *ugh*. Raged filled when Katy showed a blind eye to not once but twice over what Blake did !And when he did show his true self, my inner self quoted, “I knew it! YOU traitor !”. At the same time a tear trickled down over the loss that had come as a consequence .

In the beginning of this series I told myself we had only one enemy to worry about .Damn I was wrong and the Arums are little to worry about. The ending was so not I expected ! I mean I did the usual parts but the bang ? uh-huh never even imagined so ! I felt tricked , lied , deceived, fobbed and hurt . When everything subsided there was yet another twist and I could take no longer . I took a few minutes off from reading to get my heart beat down. Jennifer sure knows how to make us live the story .

And its official . Though I have not yet completed the LUX goes into my favourite series of all time hands down with no second thought!

Thanks for reading down till here.

Until next time,

Percy Reads,

xoxo
